What is HooQs?
HooQs enables you to enjoy your favorite videos and music straight from your mobile phone or wireless device – without any installation or hassle.

You can build your own channels from various media sources and HooQs delivers them straight to your mobile phone, and creates a personal mobile portal that is tailored just for you! -
Is it free?
HooQs is free! The only cost that you might have is due to data traffic on your mobile operator network. If you don't know what your data plan is, please contact your mobile operator.

Where do I start?
The best way to start getting HooQed is by searching for the videos or music that you like.

Simply type in your search words and create your channel from the videos and music tracks that our engine gets for you. -
Is HooQs available in my country?
HooQs is a web-based mobile media service available at any mobile data ready location. However, for quality media delivery, 3G phones & networks are needed. If your phone or network are not offering data packages or not allowing access to the open internet, you will not be able to use HooQs.

How do I know if my phone supports video?
HooQs currently supports the following mobile phones:

Phones with a 3GP media player are supported by HooQs. For example: Samsung A900/A920/A940, SPH-A800, and Z107, Sony-Ericsson P900, w800/900i and Motorola V3 series.
We also support the various Nokia models. For example: Nokia 6620, 6680, 7650, 3650 (with RealPlayer); Nokia Series 60 (3230, 3600, 3660, 6260, 6600, 6620, 6630, 6670, N-Gage QD etc.), and Nokia Series 80 and 90.
If your phone supports HooQs and is not on this list - please let us know. -
How do I choose my country and operator when registering or when sending a channel?
Simply type your cellphone number (no need for a country prefix), and choose your country - you're done!

How do I know if my phone supports streaming?
For streaming, you may need to change your APN to Internet. Access your video player (normally under Applications or Media in the phone’s menu). You will need to find the Network configuration menu and change it from WAP or Portal into Internet APN.

I can't reach the HooQs mobile portal.

I have reached the HooQs portal but can't see the videos.
- Does your phone support video? Check our list of compatible phones to verify.
- Does your phone support streaming? If you can't stream the video, try downloading it instead.

The phone is streaming but the video is constantly buffering – what is the problem?
The network you are using is probably busy or you are not in a 3G coverage area. Try downloading the video instead of streaming.

What do I do with the SMS that I received from you?
If it's the SMS with the password to your account, we suggest that you save it for further reference (unless you wish to change the password).

If you have received a Channel Invitation, the SMS will contain a web link for you to use. All you have to do is open the message, click on "Use Detail" and then choose the "Web address" option (the phrasing might change from phone to phone). If you have an internet connection in your phone, you will be connected then to our mobile portal and the channel that was sent to you.
Once you are in the HooQs Portal, you can bookmark its address for future use. To do that, click on "Options", and select "Add Bookmark". -
I didn't receive the SMS with the password or the link to the channel.
This could happen for a number of reasons:
- One or more of the details that you have provided (phone number, country, mobile operator) is incorrect.
- Sometimes there is a delay in SMS messages due to heavy communication traffic in your area. Please wait a few minutes to see if the SMS arrives.

I have received the SMS, and tried to use the address in it, but got an error message. What do I do?
First of all, please verify that you have a WAP (internet) connection in your phone. If you don't have an internet connection, please contact your mobile operator and find out how you can enable internet connection on your phone.

If you do have an internet connection on your mobile phone, make sure that it's enabled and that you have good reception. -
What is APN?
Access Point Name or APN is the name of an access point for mobile data.

An Access Point is a gateway that gives your mobile phone access to GPRS/3G networks. Your network will usually provide 3 Access Points - one for WAP browsing, one to send MMS messages and one for the different Internet services such as e-mail. -
What is WAP?
WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol. WAP is an open, global specification that empowers mobile users with wireless devices to easily access and interact with information and services instantly.

What is "My HooQs"?
My HooQs is your personal corner in HooQs. In here you can see the channels you have created and edit them. You can also see your favorite channels and your buddies, and edit your profile if you feel like it.

What is 3gp?
3gp is a file format which is used in mobile phones to store media (audio/video). This file format is a simpler version of *.MOV (used by QuickTime).

Where can I see my channels?
All of the channels you created will appear on your personal mobile portal for your enjoyment at any time and place.

The channels will also appear on the HooQs web site, under "My HooQs". If you chose to make your channel "Public", then anyone can see and rate it, and it will appear on relevant search results. -
What is a channel? How do I create a channel?
A channel is a collection of video clips that you can create on your own – in any topic you like. To create a channel:
- Perform a search. For example: "Paris Hilton".
- Search results will appear and include matching channels, video clips and music files that HooQs has found for you.
- There might already be a channel made out of the search you typed in – and then you can simply send it to your mobile phone and enjoy it any time you want.
- If there is no channel that matches your search – you can create your own! Simply click on "Create Channel", Give it a name, a short description and tags, and there you have it!
- The search results might present clips that you don't like. To get rid of a clip, uncheck the tick-box above the clip before you click "Create Channel". This way, the clip will not appear in your channel.

How do I rate a Channel?
Every registered user can rate the channels in HooQs. Ratings are marked in stars – 1 star is really awful, 5 stars are the coolest ever. You can rate a channel simply by clicking on the stars that appear at the bottom of the video player.

How do I edit my channels?
When you are in "My HooQs", you'll see that under every channel there is an option to edit it.
- Click on "Edit Channel" - you will be directed to "Edit Channel Page".
- Note that you have 2 main editing options: "Edit details" and "Edit media"
- Edit details: Change the channel's name, make it public or private, change the channel's category and choose your tags.
- Edit Media: Here you can delete unwanted clips from your channel. Check the clips you want to get rid of, click "Delete" and then "Save" - and your channel is ready.
- You can also change the order of the clips in the channel, by giving them different numbers.
- Don't forget to hit SAVE when you are done editing!
- Click on "Edit Channel" - you will be directed to "Edit Channel Page".

Do I need to download or install anything on my computer or phone?
Absolutely not! HooQs works on phones that support video, and you don't need to install any kind of software.

How do I send a channel to my friends?
This is where the real fun begins!

When a clip is played in our player, 3 buttons will appear under it: Send to Mobile, Add to Favorites and Share. Click on "Send to Mobile", and you can send it to your friends' cellular phone. Click on "Share" and fill in the details – and the channel will be sent to your friend by e-mail.
You can also share the channel in your favorite bookmarking service, like digg or del.icio.us. -
One of my channels disappeared! What happened?
If you didn't delete it yourself by accident, there is the possibility that it was offensive and not compatible with our Terms and Conditions, and was removed by our staff.

How do I report an abuse or an offensive content?
If you find a certain channel offensive, you can report it to us by clicking the "Report Abuse" link that appears on the page of each channel.

Who decides what the "Featured Channels" are?
The featured channels are selected by our Chief Editor. If you have a very cool channel and you want it presented for all to see and admire, you can contact our Editor and suggest your channel for the "Featured Channels" section.

How Many Clips do I get?
That mainly depends on how many interesting ones we find for you. Generally, we will send about 3-4 clips per week - sometimes more, sometimes less.

I am trying to watch Adult content but I can't - why?
Make sure the Adult Filter is turned off if you want to watch adult content. The filter is on the top right-hand side of the page. Simply click on it to turn it on and off.
